The truth about the universe...
« on: April 26, 2011, 10:34:45 PM »
The universe is constantly conspiring in our favor. The things that happen to us and around us are proving this amazing and massively invaluable fact all the time. Once you realize that this is true, accept it, and embrace it; you will be fully in control of your life.

For now,

Yup, my philosophies are very similar to "the secret" that everyone was talking about a few years ago. I saw that film when I was around 17 and thought the law of attraction was dumb.

Fast forward 5 years to 2010, I was 22 and someone gave me a book called "The Alchemist". This book was great, but I still didn't think much of it.

Then, this January I flipped my honda off of the freeway and had revolution of the mind. I started following the notion that the universe conspires in our favor (the main lesson in The Alchemist) and my life has gotten better and better everyday.
I got out of a bad 7-year relationship. I "lucked" into a beautiful 4 bedroom house where I'm currently paying only utilities to stay by myself. I was offered a job and a place to stay in San Fransisco, which I'll take as soon as the semester is over. ( Started taking acting classes at JC this year.) And more! Haha. Sorry...

Anyway, just try it.  Notice "coincidences".  Think about what you want and not the problems that might get in the way. This will literally empower you to talk to every girl you find attractive, because that's why she's there!

That's all.

I read the book by Shakti Gawain - creative visualization before i saw the secret. the fact that i found that book in a hospital was a good hint in itself.

Ya there is WAY too many coincidences for them to be just that.

And i always find parking in SF, that alone is a big nod in itself..lol

A book relating to the whole concept of coincidence and how if you look back into your own life you will see a path that was laid there for you to follow.

When Bad Things Happen to Good People (ISBN 1-4000-3472-8) is a 1981 book by Harold Kushner,

Was the chile and japan earthquake conspired in our favor?

It's good to be positive, but there's a fine line between realism and naivety.

Not interested in this 'spiritual' airy fairy side of PUA whatsoever. Seems a few people swallow that stuff. Its up to them but really not my cup of tea at all. I don't believe the universe aligns for the sake of the good of mankind. Seeing how we're not even at the centre of the galaxy, I fail to see our insignificant world in the grand scheme of things, hence why I subscribe more to my (admittedly fairly basic) understanding of Existentialism:

?Meaning and morality of one's life come from within oneself. Healthy, strong individuals seek self expansion by experimenting and by living dangerously. Life consists of an infinite number of possibilities and the healthy person explores as many of them as posible. Religions that teach pity, self-contempt, humility, self-restraint and guilt are incorrect. The good life is ever changing, challenging, devoid of regret, intense, creative and risky.? - Friedrich Nietzsche

My honest opinion - man/woman is a lump of flesh which like all lifeforms exists to reproduce and nothing more. We are insignificant in the universe and probably among thousands of other lifeforms and civilizations within space. Life has no meaning whatsoever which will probably unnerve a fair few of you, but here's my take on it: I don't want life to mean anything. All I care about is making the most of it while I'm still here. Maybe that's meaning but not in the sense of the divine.

And btw I do believe in coincidence. But if you believe otherwise then I don't want to preach - I just put forward my point of view is all.  ;)

I respect your opinion and agree with you on the bases of religions tendency to limit life's opportunity but to be so basic as to accept consciousness as just coincidence is something I myself can't just digest, nor is believing an all powerful being has taken his time to write up a set a rules and regulations for how we should indulge in the gift of life. Am more partial to the Buddhist perspective, of life in all its good and bad is about enjoying the experience and helping others, cause even if you want to reduce us to an animal we are the most advance animal on this planet and a social one so why not try and make our short existence more enjoyable for us all? Most religions teach values which incorporate selflessness and community which I admire, they have their flaws and if you focus on those alone than of course they are heavy indeed. But any belief has its flaws, because its not base on Factual evidence. I see religion as good Idea that has been taken too seriously. Personally just as you said a conscious (healthy as you put it, although I know healthy people who rather stare at a TV screen than better themselves) individual craves expansion of self whether that be physically, intellectually, spiritually or other wise. Making the most of life is what we all should focus on, but we should also keep being open-minded in perspective that we may have not agree with to begin with. Because when we believe our way is the only way we become stagnant. So instead of criticizing others for their spiritual beliefs you should indulge and take what can improve you and leave behind the stuff you find to be bullshit.
