One of my favourite books. Alan recently signed up for the forum actually.... I know he's commenting on the site loads, if you're lucky this thread will get him posting in here!

It's a really good read. It made me realise I've been spending most of my life in Mode 3, and dreaming of being Mode 2.

It gave me something new to aim for.

I also suspect Mode 1 honesty will help me be more focused at work.

The way Allan use it...I dont like it, its VERY direct, I prefer using the concept of mode one, being absolutely honest with the girl and most important yourself, kynda way, being direct, but romantic at the same time.

Am I the only one who can't actually see the poll results?

I Started to read "Mode One" and finished already the summarized e-book "Mode One - HARDCORE". Good stuff.

Edit: I've reached the chapter of mode two behavior and I'm intrigued by the direct nature of mode one. I, however, have a big issue with being straightforward honest about sex with girls. Oh well, I guess I could tell it to you. *sigh*: I suffer from a pretty bad case of facial acne (red scars with occasional yellow breakouts - pretty disgusting if you ask me) , which made me lose my sexual confidence.

Now to the question: Is it such a big issue which should stop me from reaching my goals? Referring to the note below, should I wait for 5-6 months for the illness to fade a little? Or should I just ignore it and pretend I'm not who I am (a guy with clear skin) and go straight for "the kill"?

(I did visit a dermatologist and I have undergone the treatment for a month, with positive results. But, it will take at least 2 years until my skin fully heals. At a second thought, I think my question should be moved in "Inner game". However, this regards the directness of Alan's book, this is why I have posted in this thread.)

Edit 2: In order not to create confusion, I'm young meat, 18 years old. And if this is relevant, the legal sex age is 15 where I'm from. (that means young "targets").

MO can work in daygame if you've picked up very quickly that you have a very strong natural chemistry with a lady you've approached and she has also, but if the chemistry isn't there and you've got to plow with a lot of talking, as the lady isn't saying much, MO won't help.

If anyone can give specific daygame situations, specific daygame openers (plus this site also put up any in field videos filmed of anyone successfully using MO in daygame, where a daygame wingman secretly filmed you), I'd like to know and also see the in field videos.

I'm interested in maybe giving it a read sometime, but I honestly don't really want to read much more into the whole art of picking up women aside from maybe the odd article. Still considering the high praise this may at least be worth a browse.

You could still be romantic... if that even means something positive these days.

Being upfront and straightforward could mean "Hey, I wanna fuck. You free tomorrow?", sure, but it doesn't have to be XXX-rated language to tell her what you want. Mode one is more about eliminating the small-talk before you know she's interested, because then you are just wasting your time (and hers). You could also convey your intentions non-verbally, like Yad discussed in the latest podcast (#28).

In my opinion the most important thing is being honest with yourself. Are you not being direct because you honestly think it's not a good idea tell the girl behind the counter what you want or are you scared to do so?
In the first case I'd understand and for the best results you should try not to put her on the spot too much while trying to convey what you want (she's got nowhere to go and might think you are a crazy stalker type  :P). In the latter case you are just making another excuse...

Some other points.
1) Does anyone know why did Steve the Dean Williams verbally attack Alan, as I heard he did ?

2) I'm not sure if the guy was genuine, or was just speaking shit, but on the PUA Hate forum Alan has made a lot of posts on (I'm not sure why, because although it's good there's a website around to discuss the charlatans in the pickup field of which there's a lot, most of the guys who post on it, are a bunch of vitriolic, hate filled dickheads), a guy said he used MO at his university and it disastrously backfired on him.  The women he used it on, all rejected him and now laugh at him whenever they see him.

3) This is why Alan badly needs to make several Mode One videos, where either he and/or both white and non-Caucasian guys he's trained, show how to successfully use MO in both day and night game situations and what tonalities and openers to use in conjunction with it, plus also have footage of guys out in the field in both day and night game, successfully and sometimes even unsuccessfully using MO.  Speaking about MO in writing and on audio isn't enough.  Guys need to see video.  If this site can have daygame in field videos (or is intending to), so can Mode One.

4) My other suggestion to Alan, is if you intend resuming your audio show, please don't use Blogtalkradio anymore, as its audio quality is absolute shit.
He did some great interviews on it, that are marred by the crap audio quality.

Hey man...nobody looks perfect. We all have our flaws. It's good that you're working on your acne problem but you're only 18...you're supposed to have acne at your age. Try to clear up that face and present yourself the best way you can but you can't worry so much about all your little flaws. Looks aren't as important to girls as personality and status are.

1) Does anyone know why did Steve the Dean Williams verbally attack Alan, as I heard he did ?

Because Steve "The Dean" Williams is a very jealous, envious, phony, disingenuous person who I foolishly thought was my "good friend."  He and I have fallen out before 2-3 times regarding his hatred for African-American women.  This falling out started when he expressed jealousy and resentment regarding my invitation to be a featured speaker at The Direct Approach Dating Summit in London.  Williams wanted to be invited, but wasn't, and he took out his frustration on me.

Bottom line, he and I will never be friends again.  His behavior and comments toward me on PUAHate.com was unforgivable.

I saw that thread ("Mode 1 Ruined my life") and I'm like 99.9% certain that this person is lying, and is a message board troll looking to try to ruin my reputation and invalidate the effectiveness of The Mode One Approach.

Men who have actually read my book, and understand it, have never had the reactions, responses and results that this guy claims to have had.  Never.  And secondly, if any guy is having problems or challenges with my Mode One philosophies and principles, they always end up writing me and/or scheduling a personal consultation session with me.

I can't speak for London, The UK, and/or Europe in general, but in the USA, most in-field videos are either a) fake and/or b) illegal.  If you are a business or earn profit, you cannot videotape a conversation with a woman and put it on YouTube or any other public domain unless she signs a release waiver either before the conversation, or right after the conversation.  Otherwise, she can sue your pants off.

This is why I am not the biggest fan of "in-field" videos.

4) My other suggestion to Alan, is if you intend resuming your audio show, please don't use Blogtalkradio anymore, as its audio quality is absolute shit.  He did some great interviews on it, that are marred by the crap audio quality.

I've been on BlogTalkRadio since June 2007, but I have to admit ... some of my listeners have complained about sub-par audio.  Hopefully they will improve their audio quality in the near future.

Thanks for the feedback....

Alan
