Having trouble hooking sets

Hi Guys

Whats would your be your advice on how to resolve my current sticking point, at the moment I can get girls to stop long enough for them to hear out my opener, but then once I have delivered the compliment, they say "thanks but I've really gotta be go...sorry "and they walk off, and I dont really get the opportunity to continue the conversation, they pretty much just say thanks and walk off every single time. So how do I get them to stick around long enough to hear more of what I've got to say, e.g like a 5 min convo/banter without looking to try hard and needy?

How do you guys get the girls to stay in set with you?

Its hard to say without witnessing it.

If this happens every time you try it, it could be because your opening wrong. Are you putting too much pressure on them? maybe try being much more casual in your approach, or it could be the other side of the coin, that your not commanding there attention, in that case, be slightly more commanding. You could use the Sasha technique, if the girl walks off smiling, he'll reopen them.

Yeah its hard to say without actually seeing you as it could be a number of things.

The three things that come to mind are: Are you actually getting in front of them when you are opening? (this isnt always necessary but is a good idea) Are you smiling with good eye contact? Are you actually making the transition? (this can be as simple as introducing yourself or making an assumption about her to continue the convo).

Rob's spot on with the above, particularly transitioning. I've seen a lot of guys take ages on how to approach the girl, then worry about what to open her with and as soon as they do the first two you can almost see the sense of relief wash over them; "YES!"!Thank God, I did it right!!" and then the realisation hits them almost staright away: "Oh crap! I need to say something to keep her here!?!.."

As soon as she replies you should be ready with what to say next. Hopefully the convo will be 50/50 but with some girls you may need to invest more.

some solide advice there and its so true.

I think the time of the day can also have a influence, unfortunately for me, I can only do it during the rush hours and its hard.
